How to use your Don't Starve Together server

Follow these steps from purchase and connection through configuration and safe updates.

Purchase and automatic setup
Choose a plan and Don't Starve Together is installed automatically on a dedicated VM. Wait until the server address appears on the management page.

Connect from the game
Copy the IP and game port into Don't Starve Together's direct-connect screen or server browser. Complete any game-specific authentication notice first.

Manage settings, mods and files
Change supported options in the web console and use the provided SFTP account for maps or large mod files. Keep a copy before editing files.

Back up before updating
Ask players to disconnect and stop the server cleanly. Confirm the backup, run the version update, then verify that players can reconnect.

Operations tip: Player estimates assume default settings. Watch memory usage and upgrade the plan when using large worlds or many mods.
